Staying tender for the promise of something better.

Staying tender for the promise of something better.

Sunday.

Slow days.

Allamanda blanchetii (“purple allamandas,” “red bells”). Strong roots. Strong fibers. Can’t tolerate the cold. Toxic.

Antigonon leptopus (“Mexican creeper,” “queen’s wreath,“ “coral vine,” “cadena de amor,”). Heart-shaped leaves. Aboriginals prepared seeds like popcorn, could also boil seeds into fried cakes.

Clitoria ternatea ( “blue pea“ or “Asian pigeon wings” or “butterfly pea”). Clitoria, like clitoris, like “flower of the clitoris,” since the blossoms bare close resemblances to vulvas. Improves female libido. Improves memory.

Fruits are edible, once the long pods grow tender. Mostly self-sufficient. Enhances the soil (roots use rhizobia to allow the plants to use gaseous nitrogen, or ”nitrogen fixing”). Native to Asia. Used to dye natural fibers/food, also consumed as tea.
